About Us
Terra Firma Botanicals is a woman owned and operated business. Founded in Ruch, Oregon in 1982, then moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1985 where it has remained ever since.
Our products are made with a deep reverence for the Earth and respect for your health and well being. All of the materials that are used are chosen with care, giving thought to locality, ecological impact, and farming/processing practices. It is very important to us to only use ingredients that are obtained without the use of pesticides, herbicides, fumigants and irradiation. All herbs are either certified organically grown or ethically wild harvested at the peak of potency and our products and ingredients are never tested on animals.
Every product is made by hand in small batches, we produce our preparations with high standards, with the active goal to remain small and grow slowly to not compromise quality.
In 2016, Terra Firma had a crew of 7 employees and had a collection of over 100 single herbal extracts, 20+ combination formula tinctures, 8 herbal syrups and elixirs and many body care and beauty products. Sadly, River Kennedy (owner and expert herbal formulator) passed away in November 2016. Shortly before she passed, River and her daughter, Shay, started the process of selling part of the business. Shay continued the arrangements, and at the start of 2017, all the tinctures and herbal syrups were sold to Mountain Rose Herbs. Shay and all the current employees at the time were hired on to Mountain Rose. Shay was able to keep the Terra Firma name and all of the herbal beauty and body care products. She worked for Mountain Rose for almost 5 years managing their new extract department. Then in 2021, she resigned and decided to devote more time and energy into the now tiny, single employee business of Terra Firma Botanicals.
Slowly, the website is being developed and new body care and beauty products are on the horizon to be released!
